Roma
director of sport Monchi is hoping to sign AC Milan winger Suso but
could face competition from Serie A rivals Napoli, according to AS.
The former Liverpool man is under contract at the San Siro until 2019, but has yet to agree an extension with the club.
Newly
appointed Roma director Monchi is believed to have identified Suso as a
perfect option in coach Eusebio Di Francesco’s 4-3-3 system.
Milan
are reportedly demanding a fee of €30m for the 23-year-old, and Napoli
are also said to be interested in acquiring his services.
The
Spanish wide-man made 36 appearances for Milan in all competitions last
season, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists.
Despite the increased speculation, Suso last month claimed that he wanted to remain with the Rossoneri.
“We’ll
see what happens in the summer," he said. "As I’ve always said, I’m
very happy here and my dream is to play for this team. The important
thing is that we got into the Europa League.
“We’ll
decide in the summer, I’m very happy and I’ve heard the support of the
fans. I thank them for that, because it’s been a beautiful year. Let’s see what the club want to do, and if they want to talk they know where I am.”
