The Portuguese international has arrived in Milan to undergo a
medical and will officially be unveiled as an AC Milan player
immediately after.
The 21-yearold has become a hot prospect in Europe this past season
after impressive performances for both club and country. He scored 21
goals in 44 games for Porto and 7 goals in just 8 caps for Portugal.
Andre Silva
arrived in Milan last night and will undergo a medical before being
unveiled as AC Milan's newest signing, according to Italian news outlet
Football Italia. He will be the Rossoneri's fourth signing of the summer
after Mateo Musacchio, Franck Kessie, and Ricardo Rodriguez. The Portuguese will fly off to Russia for the Confederations Cup with Portugal after the deal is officially announced.
Silva signed a five-year contract with Porto before the start of last
season which included a release clause of €60 million but Milan have
reportedly clinched a deal with the Portuguese club after a bid of just
€38 million was accepted. There might be add-on bonuses in the deal
which might eventually amount to €60 million.
The signing of Silva signals the intent AC Milan have to get back to the
pinnacle of Italian and European football after going off the radar in
the past few seasons. With the club being backed by Chinese investors
now, Milan will be hoping to break the dominance of Juventus in the
Serie A next season.
