AC Milan head coach Sinisa Mihajlovic refused to address questions regarding his future at the club after Sunday's 1-1 draw with Lazio, which marked a third straight Serie A game without a win for the misfiring Rossoneri.
"Because I'm a gentleman, I prefer to shut up," the under pressure Serbian was quoted as saying by Gazzetta dello Sport in the aftermath of Sunday's result."What are we talking about? I have a contract with Milan. At the end season things will be sorted out and you will see."
Mihajlovic's Milan remain 6th in
the Serie A table with just eight games to play. It marks a significant
improvement on last season under Filippo Inzaghi, but failing to return
to the Champions League will be severely disappointing after sizeable
investment in the squad last summer.
"What is the greatest difficulty that I am having here at Milan?" he added. "We have solutions, we do not change on the outside. We have so many players returning from long-term injuries and will try to get the most from that. Now we will stop and look to recover as best as possible."
Scoring goals continues to be a
big problem for Milan. Since the 2-1 win over Genoa on Valentine's day,
fans have seen their team score just three times in six league games.
"We
are the team that hits the most posts in Serie A, now we have taken
two, this is another opportunity lost," Mihajlovic said of the Lazio
game.
"We have tried in every way to score, trying to exploit the full attacking potential, but we did not succeed. We were not brilliant from a technical point of view but the attitude was the right one, much more positive the last two games. Unfortunately we did not score [a second goal]."
