Manchester United and Chelsea frozen out as Bayern Munich push for £46.5m deal
MANCHESTER UNITED and Chelsea look set to be beaten
to AC Milan's Carlos Bacca after Bayern Munich emerged as favourites to
sign the striker this summer.
Carlos Bacca has scored 15 goals for Milan this season Bacca, 29, has reportedly caught the eye of a number of European clubs this season. The
Colombia intentional, who only joined Milan in the summer after winning
the Europa League for a second time with Sevilla, boasts 15 goals for
the season. Manchester United have been linked with the player, while Chelsea are said to have earmarked Bacca as a long-term forward option from next season.
But the Premier League duo may struggle to land their man. German newspaper Bild claim Bayern have made Bacca their priority target should they be forced to sell Robert Lewandowski this summer. Incoming manager Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly already hard at work scouting out new recruits.
Real Madrid are understood to be keen on landing Lewandowski and are willing to match Bayern's asking price. And Lewandowski's sale would likely see the Bundesliga champions have enough in the bank to rival United and Chelsea, who are both expected to spend big before next season, for Bacca's signature. Bacca himself insists he is staying at the San Siro.
