COACH CALLS ON TEAM TO STAY ON THIS TRACK

Sinisa Mihajlovic who was a guest on Sunday night on the Italian sports-show Domenica Sportiva on Rai 2:
"I have to thank my players, because they have never stopped believing in me. They have always had confidence in my ideas and at the end of the day, work pays. It has taken me a bit of time to resolve the problems. But from the past 8 rounds, we have collected 18 points and shipped just five goals. We need to keep this up so we can fight for a Champions League finish. I think Luiz Adriano will be back training again with the rest of the squad from Wednesday. Menez hadn’t played since April. I wanted Balotelli because I know him. He has never stepped out of line with his behavior. But he has been hampered by that long injury. He, along with Menez, Luiz Adriano and Boateng, can make the difference and provide me with more choices. Working on the mentality is key. When you get through to your players, that is an exceptional thing. The psychological aspect is vital both on an individual and group front.

"Galliani explained the situation well the other day regarding El Shaarawy. I can say that he is a great professional, a splendid person, but at Monaco he didn’t play much and so he went to Roma to take his chances, also for the national team. If he keeps this up, he will be an important player. I am happy for him. Let’s not forget he is still owned by Milan. When I had the fortune of coaching him, he was always committed. I often say I expect a lot from the players coming off the bench, and it’s true that Boateng, Balotelli and Menez still need to get back into peak fitness, but when that happens they will make the difference either in the starting line-up or from the bench. In the cup match, someone will play from the first minute, to show at what stage they are at. We will meet Juventus first in Serie A and then possibly in the final of the cup. I don’t like to talk about the other teams. Roma are the favourites for third place and I continue to have this view. Milan have to win every match from now until the end and in this sense the President is absolutely right."
