Lucas Ocampos admits it wasn’t easy to come on without a warm-up but is overall pleased with his performance in the match against Chievo.
Ocampos entered the pitch in the 34′ minute replacing Suso and after two relatively disappointing showings, the Argentine performed quite well and helped Milan get a 3-1 win over Chievo.
“I came on without having the chance to warm-up. It wasn’t easy but everything went fine,” the player, who arrived on loan from Genoa in January, told MilanTV.
“When you sign for a new club you need time to adapt and the
coach, your teammates are very important. The boss is very demanding
tactically speaking. Having many South American players in the team is
helping me a lot. A goal was the only thing missing in my performance? I
can’t wait to score my first goal in the red and black. No hurry, it
will happen. Juventus? We have to focus on the next game against the
Bianconeri. It won’t be easy but we really want to do well.”
Speaking to Premium Calcio, the 22-year-old said: “The penalty
kick? He touched him. I was going for a kick and his put his foot in.
The match? We didn’t play well in the first half but did well in the
second. We found space and we won. It’s important to come in and do the
best you can.
“We have to continue like this. What is my role? Where I played
on Sunday… but if the coach asks me to play as a second striker then I
can do it. The esteem of Montella? I think him, I have to do the best to
stay here. Bacca? He did very well and if he scores then we’re happy.
“Another dinner? No, he has already paid for one… this time we
have to pay for him. Corporate matters? We’re just thinking of the
pitch, it was important to win against Chievo.”
