Thiago Silva has revealed how Zlatan Ibrahimovic once stuffed Rino Gattuso into a bin whilst team-mates at AC Milan.
There are few footballers who would’ve messed with former Rangers and
Italy midfielder Gattuso in his prime, but Silva recalls how Zlatan
taught him a lesson after a series of wind-ups.
Brazil captain Silva- who is now a team-mate of Zlatan’s at PSG – was
also at Milan at the time of the incident, and tells the hilarious tale
as a reminder of why you should never EVER mess with the Swedish
striker.
Speaking via Football Italia, the centre-back said: “The protagonist of this story is Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
“One day, during a training session, Gattuso spent all morning
teasing Zlatan. He was provoking him, and Zlatan took it without
apparently saying anything. In fact his revenge would come soon after.
“Rino [Gattuso] and Zlatan met again in the dressing room after training, and Ibra lifted the entire weight of his team-mate, flipped him over and threw him in the bin!
“It was crazy, we all started laughing thinking about Gattuso’s face. I swear, I couldn’t stop laughing for a week.”
Gattuso left Milan in 2012, and retired a year later after a short
spell with Swiss side Sion, and it’s pretty remarkable that this
absolute gem of a tale has managed to stay hidden away for so long.
Ibrahimovic has been linked with a big-money move to the Premier
League in the summer, notably with Manchester United, and one thing is
for sure: we’re certain that we speak for everyone when we say we’d LOVE
to see Zlatan binning a few folk in England’s top-flight.
