MILAN – Rossoneri defender Alessio Romagnoli took part at an
event with the club’s official partner Levissima on Thursday in Milan.
As well as signing autographs and posing for photos for the fans, the
Italian also took the chance to speak to gathered journalists. These
were his thoughts:
"I don’t know if I will play this weekend, it’s down to the coach
to make his team-choices. We know we didn’t play well in the last game
versus Sassuolo. We went there to do well, but now is the time to move
on and bounce back. We need to go to the Bentegodi this weekend, play
our game and it’s important that we win. Our goal remains Champions
League qualification and while we can still achieve that, we will fight
until the very end. If Roma don’t break away, we will keep going for it.
Rumours surrounding Mihajlovic? These are questions for the coach and
the club. He was a fundamental figure for me at Sampdoria and here now
at Milan. I hope to keep playing under him. We’re in good shape and we
know where we went wrong in the last game and we cannot repeat those
mistakes. If we want to qualify for the Champions League, I think we
have to win every single game from now until the end of the season. Luiz
Adriano is a great player and vital to us, but it is down to the coach
to decide who plays. Mexes? I am happy for him, he is a great person and
a top defender. We all hope the coach stays and we are all behind him.
Formation? 4-4-2 or 4-3-3, very little changes. We can play with both
formations. I know that the President and CEO Galliani made a big effort
to bring me here and so I always strive to give my all. EURO 2016?
We’re all hoping to be there. I have to just keep on going and work
hard. There are a lot of very good young players. I am trying to show
what I am capable of. I don’t have a message to give to Conte and I have
to do my talking out on the pitch. I hope I can be a part of this club
for many years and win here. Balotelli is not a problem. His qualities
are there to see. He had a bad injury and he is now working his way
back."
