Liverpool linked with a move for one of AC Milan best players

AC Milan striker Giacomo Bonaventura is reportedly on Jurgen Klopp’s wishlist for the summer transfer window.

The Italian international is seeking an improved contract at the San Siro, with hesitation prompting speculation that Bonaventura could move elsewhere if his demands are not met. The 26 year-old forward has scored 6 goals and provided 7 assists for the Rossoneri this season, making him one of AC Milan’s most valuable players as they continue to struggle behind the main title contenders.

Liverpool boss Klopp is making preparations for a busy summer, fans anticipating a radical overhaul of a squad inherited from former manager Brendan Rodgers. Chief concerns among the Kop include their ineffective attack, a shadow of the 2013-14 season with Luis Suarez. Major signings Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino have scored just 13 league goals between them, with other main threat Daniel Sturridge regularly on the sidelines with injury.

Bonaventura has spent his entire career in Italy, moving from Atalanta to AC Milan in 2014 for €7 million (£5.4m). Prospective buyers would need to spend at least £14.2 million and meet wage demands for the player’s services.
