AC Milan legend Gennaro Gattuso would walk to Manchester to manage United

The former AC Milan midfielder, who won two Champions League titles with the Serie A outfit, as well as the World Cup with Italy, is currently managing Italian third-tier side Pisa.

Gennaro Gattuso stated in a recent interview that he dreamt of managing Manchester United, and would even walk to Manchester to accomplish his dream.
“I’d walk there. I’d even go tomorrow,” Gattuso told the Sun, when asked what he would do if offered the managerial role at Old Trafford.
The former AC Milan player also revealed that he would have loved to play under legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, and that he is a huge fan of the Premier League.
“Ferguson has always respected me — and I have always admired the Premier League which, for me, is the best league in the world,” he said.
“In Italy, we are tactical masters, but in England you see pacey players — with great strength in their legs.”

The Premier League experience
Gattuso has helped foil English sides Manchester United and Liverpool on a number of occasions. He was part of the AC Milan team that knocked the Red Devils out of the Champions League twice, as well as the one that beat Liverpool in the 2007 CL final.
However, Gattuso has been on the losing side as well. He was in the AC Milan side that lost to Liverpool in the 2005 CL final, and also suffered defeat in 2011, when the Rossoneri were knocked out by Tottenham Hotspur.

A controversial player and manager
Gattuso’s most notable indiscretion as a player came when he dared to defile the great Zlatan Ibrahimovic by slapping him in the face in 2003 during a Champions League game against Ajax.
He has carried on in the same vein as a manager as well, making the headlines on one occasion for slamming the press in an expletive-laden tirade during his time as manager of Greek side OFI Crete.
Gattuso was appointed manager of Italian third-tier side Pisa in 2015. His resume may not find a lot of fans at Old Trafford though — perhaps with the exception of fellow firebrand Roy Keane.
