Bacca: Dedicates goal to Daughter

Bacca : “I dreamed of a game like this, in a derby. These matches are really important for morale. My goal tonight means a lot to me. I dedicate it to everyone, the team, the fans and to my daughter. I want to dedicate this goal to her. I always try and do my best and my goal is for my daughter, who celebrates her birthday today and I couldn’t spend it with her.

“There were lots of new players at the start of the season and it took time to blend, but now we are a team and we are tough to beat. We play to enjoy it and even away from the pitch there is a great spirit amongst the squad. The President? He is a massively important figure for all of us. Thanks to God we collected 3 points and now we must keep on working hard. We have to keep our feet on the ground though.

“This win could give us a big boost, but we also have to play well on Wednesday away at Palermo. Galliani told me that I reminded him a bit of Inzaghi and Shevchenko. I am really proud to be compared to such great players but I’m Carlos Bacca and every player has different characteristics. I want to leave my mark here at Milan and to live up to the standards of Asprilla and other top Colombian players.

“It makes me really happy to already be the Colombian player who’s scored the most goals in one season in Italy.” Bacca has 11 Serie A goals and is the top scorer in Milan this season.
